It’s a way to promote a character or fandom you like, or even a character that would just be fun to dress up as. Simply put, black panther costume “cosplay” is dressing up as an identifiable character or object from fandom. Personally, I give huge thanks to the recent popularity of ComicCons and Marvel and DC Comics character movies that have come out in the last 10 years for making cosplay more popular.
